Why bettors care: wind moves totals more than rain. Sustained winds above ~15 mph suppress the passing game and field goals — historically pushing games under. Rain matters too, but mostly by pushing teams to run. Dome and retractable-roof games are marked so you don't handicap weather that isn't there.
